Board of Education revamp

New laws being discussed by MHKs could see the end of elections for the Island’s Board of Education.

Education Minister Anne Craine (pictured) says the Education Bill 2007 which had its second reading yesterday in the House of Keys aims to revamp how the board is set up.

She says holding public elections may not be worth the money spent. Last time, just eleven per cent of the Manx electorate voted.
