Word War II aircraft over Douglas

The sights and sounds of the much loved Battle of Britain Memorial flight delighted crowds in and around Douglas at the weekend.

The Spitfire, Lancaster and Hurricane grouping arrived in close formation at lunchtime on Saturday for a 20 minute display in perfect conditions.

Crowds on Douglas Head saluted the aircraft and crew as they returned to Blackpool.

For those who missed it here's a snippet of that unforgettable sound made by those magnificent flying machines (audio fileattached):
