Oxfam appeal

by isleofman.com 25th May 2007
Island residents with deep pockets and big hearts are being asked to help Oxfam help refugees this week.

The charity has launched a special appeal for the millions of refugees who have been driven from their homes in Darfur and Chad by the fighting there.

Manager of the Oxfam shop in Castle Street in Douglas, Sue Burnham, says the organisation wants to raise money to help supply necessities such as shelter and clean water.

She says money raised will help alleviate a major humanitarian catastrophe (audio file attached):

You can make a donation to the appeal by dropping into the shop in Castle Street.
