MHK's headlights idea rejected

A suggestion motorists should drive with dipped headlights at all times has been rejected by the transport minister.

Rushen MHK Quintin Gill asked David Anderson to evaluate the safety benefits of such a move, which he says has led to a reduction in road accidents in other countries.

Mr Anderson says the associated Carbon Dioxide emissions would need to be assessed in more detail, and that the key to reducing collisions is enforced speed limits.
