Bates found guilty

by isleofman.com 23rd May 2007
A Douglas woman has been found guilty of causing the deaths by dangerous driving of a father and son.

A short time ago, at Douglas Courthouse, a seven member jury returned its verdicts on 22 year old Lyndsey Anne Bates, of Cronk Y Berry.

54 year old John Fieldhouse and his 24 year old son, Rowland, both from Ramsey, were travelling in a Renault Clio, when it was involved in a collision with a Peugeot 206, being driven by the defendant, on the Mountain Road in November 2005.

Acting Deemster Montgomery told Bates that while he was keeping an open mind, she would face the likelihood of a substantial prison sentence.

He adjourned sentence until June 22nd.
