Peel Festival residents meeting

by isleofman.com 17th May 2007
It’s all system go for the Peel Bay Festival.

That’s the message from organisers ahead of the event, which will see thousands of concert goers descend on Peel during TT fortnight.

Ratepayers packed the Centenary Hall last night (Wednesday) to voice concerns to organisers, police, the fire service, health and safety officials and the chairman of the town's commissioners, Pat Sweeney.

Inspector Simon Lowe, of the western neighbourhood policing team, says most issues have been addressed but acknowledged there was still concern some residents would have to park well away from their homes during the festival: (first audio clip)

Meanwhile, one of the festival promoters, John Shakespeare, says he’s pleased with the support of the majority of locals and hopes the festival proves a hit for visitors and residents alike: (second audio clip)
