Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash on the Mountain Road yesterday (MON)

A motorcyclist from Kent lost his life after an accident on the Verandah at around 4.20pm

His yellow and black machine which was travelling towards Douglas clipped a Peugeot car travelling in the opposite direction, before colliding heavily with a Fiat van and trailer which had stopped at roadworks.

Officers say they would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident, or seen any of the vehicles involved before the accident.

The number to ring is police headquarters on 631 212.
