Cruise ship to visit on Friday

The first cruise vessel of the 2007 season arrives in Manx waters later this week (Fri).

The 20,000 ton MS Astor (pictured) carrying up to 950 passengers and crew is scheduled to arrive in Douglas at around 7am on Friday.

The Astor, last here in 1997, is operated by Transocean Cruise Lines and the mostly German passengers will visit various sites around the Island including Tynwald Hill and Cregneash Folk village.

She will depart Manx waters around 11pm on Friday night but will return to the Island in September.

A total of ten cruise ships are expected to visit the Island during 2007.
