Enhancing the TT experience

by isleofman.com 15th May 2007
The 50,000 visitors to the TT this year are hoping for an unforgettable experience.

And good weather will go a long way to ensuring that's what they get!

But the huge numbers mean any postponement of races will cause logisitcal problems - particularly for the 20,000 fans who will be staying at campsites around the Island.

Tourism Minister Adrian Earnshaw has revealed how the authorities will plan operations on a day-by-day basis - and are ready to cope with any eventuality.

One scenario already mooted is the possible use of church halls and schools.

Mr Earnshaw says being able to respond to different situations is the key: (first audio clip)

Meanwhile, the Office of Fair Trading is determined to prevent rogue traders from damaging the Isle of Man's reputation.

The OFT plans to clamp-down on the selling of countereit drinks, short measures and shoddy goods.

Chairman Quintin Gill says they are ready to meet the challenge: (second audio clip)
