Old Courthouse development

Demolition work continues on the Old Courthouse site on Athol Street.

The building was first used as a courthouse from 1857, until the new Courts were opened 140 years later.

Architectural Historian Peter Kelly says it was actually designed for a completely different purpose though: (first audio clip)

The new development - featuring the original facade - will be complete and ready for use as a wine bar, restaurant and offices within just 18 months, as Director of Planning for Heritage Homes, Joe McLaughlin explains: (second audio clip)
