Ballasalla residents meet

by isleofman.com 15th May 2007
Department of Local Government and the Environment plans to build 257 homes and associated infrastructure in Ballasalla are being opposed by the village's Residents' Association.

At an association meeting last night, their advocate, Simon Mann, outlined his arguments against the development.

His principal point was the planned housing was too dense and actually contravened current government regulations for the area, which permit a far smaller number of houses.

He also highlighted concerns over proposed changes to the existing infrastructure, particularly the roads, drainage and a new primary school.

These people who attended agree with his views:

(Speaking second and third there were Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen and Chairman of Ballasalla Residents' Association Colin Jackson respectively).
