Christian Aid week begins today (Sunday).

Thousands of red envelopes will be delivered to homes around the Island between now and next Saturday with donations supporting a project in Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere where there's a life expectancy of just 50 years.

The charity’s hoping to raise ?42,000 and members of the public are invited to a Christian Aid week non-denominational service at St George’s Church in Douglas this evening at six thirty.
