LegCo election saga could be concluded?

by isleofman.com 11th May 2007
With the deadline for nominations for the single seat on the Legislative Council due to close this evening (Fri), there is so far only one confirmed name on the list.

It is that of local businessman Juan Turner, who picked up eleven votes last time. If no-one else comes forward, it is possible that Mr Turner will finally end the long drawn out saga and fill the seat, though in a previous vote, the single candidate, Dr David Moore failed to get elected.

Mr Turner, who runs a local radio station, has had no formal political experience.
