Commissioners give restaurant assurances

by isleofman.com 10th May 2007
Port Erin Commissioners has once again defended its decision to sell the Bradda Glen restaurant and says any future owner will be restricted by a number of conditions.

The Port Erin Ratepayers Protest Group has petitioned the Department of Local Government and the Environment about the sale, fearing the building will be bought by property developers.

But the Commissioners says the premises are to be marketed as a restaurant / function venue and public access must be maintained at all times.

The sale does not include any of the grounds or glen area.

Significantly, no extensions to the height or area of the building will be permitted and no demolition is allowed either.

And any sale is subject to the approval of the Department of Local Government and the Environment.
