Expenses figure revealed

by isleofman.com 9th May 2007
The clerk of Braddan Commissioners was paid ?33,000 in expenses during the past financial year.

That figure was on top of the ?50,000 salary Charles Lewin earned in the 12 months to March 31 this year.

The figure was revealed in the House of Keys following a question from South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey.

Fifteen local authority clerks claimed no expenses.

In March, Mr Lewin was sacked for what the commissioners described as 'serious misconduct'.
