Electrical seminar

by isleofman.com 8th May 2007
A free seminar on improving the standards of domestic electrical installation work is being organised for electricians working on the Island.

The move comes ahead of the introduction of new regulations being introduced in July this year.

From the first of July anyone undertaking electrical installation work in domestic properties must comply with a new section of the building regulations - Part P.

The new regulations have been introduced by the Department of Local Government and the Environment in an effort to prevent injuries and fires caused by substandard electrical installation carried out by persons who are not appropriately qualified or experienced.

Those carrying out work that doesn't comply will be committing a criminal offence.

The Department says this is a significant change and contractors need to make sure they are up to speed with the new requirements.

The seminar takes place on Monday 21st of May at 6.45pm on the first floor of Elmwood House on Greenfield Road.

More information can be obtained from Siemack Rowaichi on 685 746
