Lifeboat naming today

by isleofman.com 5th May 2007
Port Erin's new Lifeboat will be officially named on Saturday.

The 'Muriel and Leslie' is a B Class Atlantic 85 vessel as pictured - and is named after the late Leslie Hartle and his wife, whose legacy helped fund the purchase.

Mr and Mrs Hartle left the money, after spending many holidays in the coastal village.

Port Erin is the first of 36 stations in the west division to receive the state-of-the-art vessel.

The Lord Bishop, Reverend Graeme Knowles, will conduct a service of dedication at half past one at the Raglan Pier.

NB Stu, I didn't know if the Port Erin Lifeboat pic's in the file are of the Atlantic 85 vessel, but I seem to remember you doing the story.
