More security checks in Manchester

by isleofman.com 5th May 2007
Travellers from the Isle of Man heading off on holiday from Manchester Airport are being warned a new random security check is being introduced.

Passengers will be chosen at random for tests on liquids in their hand baggage - as security staff seek to stop suspect liquids being taken on board aircraft.

This comes on top of the clampdown last November, with passengers now allowed only 100 mls of liquid as they passed through security.

The new random checks are expected to slow down the security screening process further as the airport enters its busiest period.

So the long trek on holiday from the Island may get longer - the advice: be patient and come prepared!
