Laxey Working Men's Institute

by isleofman.com 3rd May 2007
The Laxey Working Men's Institute and Public Reading rooms could be reinstated if a restoration appeal is successful.

The appeal will be launched by the trustees tomorrow (fri 4th) lunchtime, on the 130th anniversary of the original opening of the building.

The Trustees feel that despite its dilapidated state, it is of 'national importance' to update the building as a community hall.

Trustee Richard Henthorn has high hopes for the volunteers who will be helping to restore the building.
