Onchan Commissioners bill

An MHK says he has the backing of the majority of Onchan Commissioners – despite wanting to reduce the number of board members from 10 to seven.

David Quirk’s proposals are contained in a private members bill which received its second reading in the House of Keys yesterday (Tuesday).

It also proposes amalgamating the rural and urban wards in Onchan.

Mr Quirk (pictured), a former Onchan Commissioner, told Manx Radio’s senior political correspondent, David Callister, the change is required:
