Tesco not guilty of 'dumping' bread

by isleofman.com 27th April 2007
Tesco has been found not guilty of the practice of 'dumping' when it sold own-brand bread well below the price of rival products.

That's the conclusion of an investigation by the Office of Fair Trading.

Dumping is the practice of exporting products from one jurisdiction to another BELOW their normal value - harming the domestic industry as a result.

The OFT says the reduced-price bread was on a special, limited offer - to customers both in the Isle of Man and in the UK - therefore it was not 'dumped' here.
