Century of Scouting

The Island’s scouting fraternity is thriving as a century of scouting is celebrated in 2007.

The latest event to celebrate the landmark takes place on Sunday with the annual St George’s Day parade and service on Tynwald Hall.

Around 500 members of cubs, beavers and scouts, along with their families, are expected to gather.

Celia Marshall, who is co-ordinating the centenary events in the Island, says the numbers show the enduring appeal of scouting:
