Pandemic flu - information drive

by isleofman.com 27th April 2007
The Manx government is stepping up its information drive in relation to pandemic flu, with the distribution of an information leaflet to every home on the Island.

'Pandemic Flu - The Facts' will be delivered by Isle of Man Post from next Monday.

The World Health Organisation says a flu pandemic is most likely to occur in the next two to three years, and the DHSS is urging everybody to read the leaflet and keep it for future reference.

Health Minister Eddie Teare says it's the start of an on going campaign, and is stressing the importance of communicating accurate facts, as part of the process of dealing with such a major incident.

A booklet, called 'What is PandemicFlu?', is also availale from the department, for people who want more information.
