Burglary warning

by isleofman.com 26th April 2007
Police are urging the public to properly secure their homes, after a burglary at a property on Grafton Street in Douglas.

Some time during the last two weeks an intruder got into a back room of the house via an insecure window, but couldn't get any further due to an internal door being locked.

It's thought they were disturbed by someone, as items were discarded while they were leaving the premises.

Investigating officer, Constable Pailor says people should always close all downstairs windows at night or when they go out, as this will deter most opportunistic criminals.

Anyone with information about the burglary should contact Constable Pailor at Lord Street Police Station's CID office on 631311, or call Crimestoppers.
