Governor visits Port Erin

by isleofman.com 26th April 2007
The Lieutenant Governor, Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks, and Lady Haddacks will make an official visit to Port Erin today (Thursday).

They’re due to arrive at Breagle Glen at a quarter past ten this morning where they'll be greeted by Captain of the Parish of Rushen, Stanley Clucas and Mrs Clucas, before meeting chairman of the commissioners, Luisa Gillow, and the board, as well as the local authority’s clerk and deputy clerk.

Their busy intinerary will include meeting shopkeepers and residents in Station and Church Road and a visit to the George Herdman Library where Lady Haddacks will formerly open the newly refurbished children’s section.

The visit will conclude with the official opening, by Sir Paul, of the new
commissioners’ offices.

The office will be open to the public for viewing between 2.30 and 4.30 this afternoon and 6 and 8pm this evening.
