International Hotel School closes

by isleofman.com 25th April 2007
Department of Trade and Industry officials are currently holding discussions following the unexpected closure of the International Hotel School, currently at the Mannin Hotel in Douglas.

Its failure means dozens of students, who have come from the far east and other areas have found themselves in limbo.

The School only moved into Douglas a matter a weeks ago after the property that had been its home in Port Erin for years, was sold.

But it's understood that the financial situation and falling student numbers has resulted in it closing.

That means the students, some of whom have paid a lot of cash to attend the school, which has enjoyed a good reputation worldwide, now in effect have nowhere to go.
