Residents oppose Bradda Glen sale

A number of Port Erin residents are opposing their local authority's proposal to sell-off part of a historic local building.

If it goes ahead the move would see a section of the Bradda Glen Hotel complex pass from Port Erin Commissioners into private ownership.

John Maddrell, of the Port Erin Ratepayers Protest Group, says the building is part of Port Erin's heritage and should remain as it is now.

Mr Maddrell has petitioned the Department of Local Government and the Environment to register the group's "strongest objections" to the proposed sale.

He fears for the building's future if it is sold on the open market:
