Kingsman Adam Smith funeral

The funeral of Kingsman Adam Smith, the Manx born soldier killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq, has taken place today (Thursday).

The 19-year-old who was brought up in Liverpool served with the 2nd Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.

He was killed when a bomb struck his Warrior armoured vehicle a fortnight ago. Three other soldiers and a Kuwaiti interpreter also lost their lives.

His funeral, with full military honours, was held at All Saint's Church in Broadgreen, Liverpool, this afternoon.

Colonel Steve Davis, deputy colonel of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, paid this tribute.
