TT crowd safety

TT officials and the police are weighing-up what special measures are needed to ensure the safety of large crowds around the mountain course.

Some estimates put the number of visitors to the centenary event as high as 45 thousand.

But with no extra space available at the most popular vantage points - the question of where people can safely watch the races is becoming a headache for organisers.

And some land owners are unwilling to allow race-goers casual access to fields and hedges this year.

TT Chief Marshal Roger Hurst says the problem must be addressed:
