No sharing deal for commissioners

An Onchan commissioner says his colleagues have demonstrated ‘a lack of vision’ over his plans to work more closely with a neighbouring local authority.

Brian Stowell said by sharing resources, Onchan and Braddan ratepayers could receive an improved service and make savings.

He even suggested the local authorities could one day share a clerk.

However, Mr Stowell (pictured) failed to receive a seconder for his motion.

Braddan last month dismissed their clerk Charles Lewin but Mr Stowell said his stance was public long before that:
