UXB found in Santon!

An unexploded bomb has been found on the Island.

The 2? inch high explosive mortar shell was discovered on Saturday near the yard at Bushy's brewery by the Hop Garden in Santon.

Emergency services and relevant members from the authorities are at the scene, and members of the Bomb Squad will be arriving on the Island tomorrow.

Acting Chief Executive at the Department of Home Affairs Simon Jackson is at the scene but says there's no need for alarm: (first audio clip)

The man who found the bomb on Saturday is brewery worker Ian Kettles, who had a VERY lucky escape, as he explained to Stuart Peters: (second clip)
