A man who headbutted another man has been given a combination order of 12 months probation and 120 hours of community service.
Mark Birkett of Loch Promenade admitted attacking Belino Santos in Colour's nightclub, because he thought he was making advances to his girlfriend.
Birkett's advocate said the defendent had 'over-reacted'.
The deputy High Bailiff said he accepted there might have been a degree of provocation.
He ordered Birkett to pay ?500 compensation, and told him the combination order was a direct alternative to 60 days immediate custody.
