DoLGE Minister admits delay

The Minister for Local Government and the Environment has admitted that he's responsible for delaying a decision with regard to approving a ?1? million loan to Douglas Corporation to build a new golf clubhouse at Pulrose.

However John Shimmin says he has been trying to find out exactly what the money will be spent on, as he has a responsibility to the rate payers of the Island.

Mr Shimmin says the cost would put four pence on the rates, and rate payers in Douglas are aware that they've had an above inflation rate rise already this year.

He believes the problem lies in the business case associated with the level of expenditure required:
