TT one-way system will save lives

by isleofman.com 11th April 2007
The decision to improse a one-way traffic scheme on the Mountain road during this year's TT will reduce accident numbers - and almost certainly save lives. That from Director of Highways Bruce Hannay - who says the move is the best practical measure they can take to cope with the tens of thousands of additional bikers due in the Island. The one-way scheme will cover the stretch of road from Ramsey Hairpin to Creg-ny-Baa - where past experience shows head-on collisions are most likely. It will be in place for the entire fortnight, and be policed 24 hours a day. Mr Hannay says it's a one-off measure for a one-off event.
