Golf course could be lost

by isleofman.com 6th April 2007
Douglas could lose its golf course unless the Department of Local Government and the Environment can make up its mind soon.

That’s the message from Council leader David Christian, who says the borough is still waiting for DLGE to approve a ?1.5 million loan which will be used to replace the current club building.

But the firm which will carry out the work is warning unless the scheme is started soon, costs could start to rise – and if that happens the future of the scheme could be in danger.

And without a clubhouse, there might not be a golf course, as Councillor Christian explains.
