Lee completes third Sahara marathon

by isleofman.com 5th April 2007
A Douglas man says he’s delighted after joining a club of 50 competitors to have completed the Marathon des Sables three times.

Lee Watson finished in 263rd position out of 757 competitors in the six day 243 kilometre endurance race across the Sahara Desert in Morocco - described as the toughest footrace on earth.

He was also 36th out of 230 in British runners taking part.

Lee admitted it was a nervy start to the race.
