It is thought there are roughly forty people in the Douglas area alone without a proper place to live. In the region of 300 families or individuals are known to Social Services as being in need of some assistance because of housing need or situation.

As a result of the increasing concern on the issue a multi agency working party comprising of Government departments, Police, Probation, Salvation Army, Methodist, Anglican and Baptist churches has been established to help combat the problem and develop a response.

A launch meeting will take place at St Andrews Church, Glencrutchery Road, Douglas, on Tuesday April 24th
