Demand for sacked Ramsey staff

by isleofman.com 5th April 2007
Demand for skilled staff is giving hope to those who are losing their jobs at the Ramsey firm Charterhouse.

Industry Minister David Cretney says his Department and Charterhouse have been approached by a number of companies making inquiries.

Mr Cretney will be at the offices of the firm on Tuesday to discuss support being given. Job centre staff will also be there.

A week ago it was announced that 78 jobs, a third of the workforce would be going over the next three months. It believed the firm is feeling the effects of moves in to UK to tighten up on aspects of tax legislation.
