Changes to legal aid needed

Significant changes to the UK's legal aid system have been introduced.

There is now a new flat rate fee meaning lawyers will be paid by the case, rather than by the hour. Many have said they'll refuse to sign up, because it will mean too much work for too little return.

Manx Advocate John Wright says OUR legal aid system is overdue for change, as a review actually took place some 4 years ago:
