Care home compromise

by isleofman.com 2nd April 2007
A decision has just been announced (noon, Mon) on the future use of a young people's care home at Surby in Rushen.

The facility has been at the centre of a row involving local residents and the DHSS, over plans to house a group of youngsters in care.

It is now known Ardbraccan House will accomodate three young people with learning difficulties - providing a safe and stable environment under the care of a team of adults.

DHSS Minister Eddie Teare says the concerns and aspirations of all parties have been considered - and today's announcement should prove acceptable all-round.
