Councillor Colin Cain will take over as Mayor of Douglas in May.
He will replace Councillor Betty Quirk.
Mr Cain, who serves the Derby Ward, is an Assistant Delivery Manager with Isle of Man Post.
He is currently on the Policy and Resources, Public Works and Commercial Lettings committees.
