?1.5m fines unpaid

The Home Affairs Minister has revealed fixed penalty and court fines totalling around ?1,500,000 remain unpaid and the figure will continue to rise.

Martyn Quayle says although the Chief Registrar's department has had more success collecting fines recently, they've been accumulating at a faster rate.

Mr Quayle revealed the figure after a question from Michael MHK David Cannan in the House of Keys, who wanted to know the amount outstanding and what was being done to enforce payment.
