Southern residents losing out?

by isleofman.com 27th March 2007
Rushen Commissioners say it’s a priority the Southlands health facility be used for its original purpose.

Some ratepayers in the south are unable to use the Elderly Mentally Infirm Unit at the centre because it’s being occupied by residents from other parts of the Island.

And that situation shows no sign of abating after the proposed EMI unit at Farmhill in Douglas was put on the backburner due to a lack of DHSS funds.

Rushen commissioner Adrian Tinkler admits there’s no easy solution to the matter.
