Green light for Bretney improvements

by isleofman.com 23rd March 2007
Creating a sustainable village for Jurby has moved a step nearer after Tynwald unanimously approved the latest refurbishment phase.

It will see up to ?1.7 million being spent on new kitchens and bathrooms, electrical upgrades and additional insulation at 62 properties on the Bretney Estate.

Both Local Government Minister John Shimmin and Michael MHK David Cannan welcomed the move and spoke of hope for a sustainable village and an exciting future for Jurby

Mr Cannan (pictured) said it was pleasing to see the department continue its good work in this area for the people of Jurby who, he said, had put up with sub-standard housing for some time.
