Online film map a big hit!

by isleofman.com 21st March 2007
The Manx film map is the most downloaded document from the government's website.

The map highlights some of the best-known locations used in films such as Lassie, Waking Ned and Stormbreaker.

Featuring 17 locations, it was designed by the Department of Trade and Industry team in charge of the Island’s film industry.

Jason Roberts reports (text of attached audio file):

Trade and Industry Minister David Cretney says it has already topped the charts of government documents posted online.

Although it was only published on the internet in mid-February, more visitors downloaded the map than, for example, any of the leaflets offered online by the DHSS.

Among the Island’s featured locations are Glen Mooar Beach, Peel Castle and Eary Cushlin, which were used in Five Children and It, I Capture the Castle and The Dark.
