Foreign aid increase criticised

The Treasury Minister has been severely criticised for increasing foreign aid at the expense of Island-based projects.

Juan Watterson told Allan Bell issues should be dealt with at home before money was sent overseas.

In his budget speech, Mr Bell pledged an extra ?400,000 of Manx taxpayers money in aid to poorer nations.

Mr Watterson says this is unacceptable when sufficient funding cannot be found for an EMI unit in Farmhill and a facility in his constituency:
