Fair man looks for alternative site

by isleofman.com 20th March 2007
The owner of the traditional TT funfair is appealing to Island residents to help him find an alternative venue for race fortnight later this year.

David Taylor, who runs Taylor's Amusements and Isle of Man Fun Fairs has been told by the Department of Tourism and Leisure the usual Harris Promenade site won't be available.

The DTL says it wants alternatives for this year's promenade entertainment and won't be seeking traditional fairground rides or stalls.

But Mr Taylor, who has been coming for 20 years, will still bring the fair if he can find somewhere else, roughly the size of a football pitch, to set up.

He would welcome offers from anyone with a suitable site and is already exploring one or two possibilities (audio file attached):

Anyone with suitable land available during TT fortnight can contact David Taylor on 07768 710006.
