Manx budget

Treasury Minister Alan Bell is preparing to deliver his sixth budget tomorrow (Tuesday).

In recent years with the economy strong, large reserves have been built-up.

But public concern over pensions and energy prices - and the rising costs of running the Health Service - may mean those surpluses can not be fattened this time.

In the United Kingdom, the main political parties are campaigning hard to prove their 'green' credentials.

UK Chancellor Gordon Brown delivers his Budget on Wednesday - and there are signs he may double vehicle tax on the least fuel-efficient cars.

We asked shoppers in Strand Street if they thought this would be a good idea for the Isle of Man:
