Inflation continues upward trend

On the eve of the Isle of Man Budget Manx government figures show inflation is continuing on the upward path its been on since last autumn.

Another increase of 0.3% in February has pushed it up to 3.7%, which is the highest level since September 2005.

In the last twelve months the biggest influence has been the increase in interest rates on mortgages, which has pushed the housing index up over 7%.
