Serevices memorial fund

An appeal to build a memorial to the 16,000 British servicemen - including Manxmen - who have died in the line of duty since the Second World War is progressing apace.

Based in Staffordshire, it will not only remember those killed in conflict but also recognise the many servicemen who have given their lives while on duty and those killed by terrorist action.

Publicity officer for the Isle of Man Royal British Legion, Major Charles Wilson, says it will help raise awareness of the invaluable contribution made by the Armed Forces throughout the world:
